Introduction
Naag panchami (नाग पन्चमि ) is traditional festival which is celebrated on Panchami Tithi, Shukla Paksha in the month of Shrawan according to Hindu Calendar. It is mainly celebarated by the people of India and Nepal. Naag panchami is a hindu festival. Naag panchami festival is dedicated d to the Naga Devta or the snake god. Importance
Naag Panchami is a day to offer milk and prayers to serpents (snakes) .The piety observed on this day is considered a sure protection against the fear of snake bite. People pray to snake idols to ask forgiveness and please them so as to protect their families from any harm. On Naag Panchami, devotees put a picture of Naga high above their doorway and perform puja with necessary puja items. Offerings in the form of food are left in the yards and paddies for snakes. On Nag Panchami day, snakes or their pictures are honored and religious rituals are performed to seek the good will of snakes
How is Nag panchami celeberate?
On Nag Panchami festival is celebrated by devotees put a picture of Naga high above their doorway and perform puja with necessary puja items.
